The Cambridge Satchel Company
Founded by Julie Deane, The Cambridge Satchel Company came about as Julie Deane struggled to find satchels for her children as seen in the Harry Potter films. Deane was a former student at Gonville and Caius College in Cambridge. With the help of her mother, Freda Thomas, they worked together in a small factory in the North of England to design a sturdy school bag for children. It wasn’t long before trend setters, vintage lovers and stylists worldwide began to covet these leather accessories. Being bagged by a number of celebrities worldwide, and spotted in Vogue, Elle, Marie Claire, Grazia and Cosmoplitan the Cambridge Satchels have found their niche in the world of high fashion.
